Description

Wade Copeland obtained a defense verdict in a medical malpractice case after a three-day jury trial in Cobb County State Court in front of Judge Kathryn Tanksley.  The allegations against our client, a facial plastic surgeon, were that he failed to timely diagnose and appropriately treat a seroma that formed on the plaintiff’s neck resulting in permanent disfigurement of his neck.  This required an additional 12 months of treatment by another plastic surgeon followed by a subsequent revision surgery to remove a large amount of scar tissue in his neck.  The plaintiff’s attorney suggested to the jury that they should award $600,000.  The jury deliberated for 39 minutes before returning a verdict in favor of the facial plastic surgeon.
