Premises Liability: Battle Regarding Georgia’s Apportionment Statutes in Negligent Security Heats Up

Clarity may be on the horizon with respect to application of Georgia’s apportionment statute – O.C.G.A. § 51-12-33 – in negligent security premises liability cases. Seven years after the enactment of the statute, and with continued disagreement within the State Bar and inconsistent rulings from the courts, the Georgia Supreme Court will get its first opportunity to provide clarity on this topic.
