Dismissal Secured for Inspection and Testing Firm

August 30, 2017

Kent Stair, Bill Jones, and Tawny Mack secure voluntary dismissal, with prejudice, of inspection and testing firm in a wrongful death action arising from an implosion of an industrial autoclave. The Plaintiffs alleged that the inspection and testing firm improperly calibrated certain devices that were used to control pressure within the autoclave. The defense team familiarized themselves with the client’s processes and the complexities of the vintage autoclave and its piping and instrumentation, and they used this knowledge to solicit favorable deposition testimony from the Plaintiffs’ liability expert. Shortly after the deposition of Plaintiffs’ expert, the Plaintiffs’ voluntarily dismissed their claims against the inspection and testing firm with prejudice.
