Tawny is an experienced litigator in the Firm’s construction litigation and employment law practice groups. Tawny’s construction litigation practice is primarily focused on the representation of architects and engineers in a variety of design and construction-phase disputes, including actions alleging property damages, contract damages, and catastrophic personally injury. Tawny also counsels design professionals on best practices for contract formation and administration.
Tawny’s employment litigation experience includes the representation of employers in all facets of workplace-related litigation defense in state and federal courts, including actions involving wage and hour laws, Title VII and related anti-discrimination laws, and employment-related torts. Aside from litigation, Tawny assists employers with the drafting of employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and workplace policies. Tawny also hosts seminars tailored to keep employers up-to-date on hot topics in employment law that impact their workforce.
Tawny is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, where she competed as a member of the Mock Trial Team. After law school and prior to joining Carlock, Copeland & Stair, Tawny practiced with a firm in Savannah, Georgia in the areas of construction litigation, commercial litigation, and employment law.
Outside of her professional practice, Tawny donates a significant amount of time to raising awareness of young-onset colorectal cancer and fundraising for charities whose missions fund cutting-edge research and provide support for colorectal cancer patients and their caregivers. Tawny enjoys spending her spare time with her husband, Zack, and their rescue pets, Atticus Finch, Webster Bivens, and Lyric the Cat.
