Legal Nurse Consultant – Atlanta, GA
Carlock, Copeland & Stair, LLP is seeking a qualified Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) for our downtown Atlanta office. The ideal candidate will have an active RN license and minimum five (5) years’ experience in a clinical setting, be proficient researching medical literature, reading charts and interpreting the notes of physicians and nurses. The Legal Nurse Consultant will be responsible for reviewing initial pleadings, identifying medical records needed, organizing and analyzing medical records and developing a chronology, as well as locating and obtaining medical experts. This position will support colleagues in trial preparation by preparing and updating medical record chronologies, charts, diagrams, timelines, and other demonstrative visual aids for trials and depositions. This person will handle a variety of assignments, assisting attorneys in all aspects of litigation support including discovery, trial preparation, scheduling, state and federal filing including electronic filings and legal billing. The Paralegal will support partners, of counsel and associate attorneys in providing litigation defense services to their clients. E-filing, assisting with deposition, hearing and trial preparation, including preparing timelines, designing demonstratives and other visual aids. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to communicate verbally and written, proficient MS Office Suite, electronic document management system, preferably iManage/FileSite, and experience with legal time and billing system. The Litigation Support Specialist provides firm wide technical analysis and support for electronic discovery projects, document production and document reviews. Two or more years’ eDiscovery database experience required, preferably with a law firm. Knowledge of litigation software such as iPRO, CaseMap, and Trial Director, understanding of electronic data discovery (EDD) and electronically stored information (ESI) processes is preferred.
